Honeymoon Yo!

Joseph and I married on Sunday, January 16, 2011 and headed to the Napa Valley after the reception. We had an amazing time at Milliken Creek Inn & Spa, which we booked via an awesome service called Jetsetter. We have never experienced such quality service. Once we walked into the lobby, we were greeted by our names as they were awaiting our arrival. I had prepared to give them our reservation number and credit card, like I have had to do at many other hotels, but this was not the case at Milliken Creek. They had our key ready and explained the main house activities and resources, such as cheese and wine in the evening and recommended restaurant menus.
The staff then helped carry our bags to the room, which was in a separate building from the main house. They explained the amenities and spa services for us, so that is great customer service. The room was gorgeous! It was so serene and romantic. We had a private balcony, fireplace, widescreen television, WiFi, jetted bath tub, unlimited water and soft drinks, and a quaint sitting area. Right away we grabbed our iPads and just chilled in the chairs while we read and relaxed after an exciting wedding day.

Milliken Creek Inn & Spa has a two night minimum, and I am very pleased that it is. It was the little details that sealed the package. Each evening, we received a mini box of chocolates and a breakfast card to hang on the door with our order and desired delivery time. Each morning, we enjoyed a gourmet breakfast in the privacy of our room with orange juice, French pressed coffee, pastries, and breakfast of choice.

On Monday, we wanted to make a dinner reservation, which the staff kindly helped us make at Grace’s Table. We went to downtown Napa for most of the day for lunch at Norman Rose Tavern and shopping. When we came back to our room to relax a little before dinner, the room was spotless and everything was put back in place like when we first arrived. Dinner was of course delicious because Napa is full of award-winning restaurants. After dinner, we were surprised to find the room was cleaned again! But this time, candles were lit throughout the room and romantic music was softly playing in the background.
Check out was seamless. The staff called to see if we needed assistance with our luggage. Again, I was ready to hand them my credit card or give them some type of contact information, but everything was taken care of by Jetsetter. We just turned in the room key, and thanked Milliken Creek for the most wonderful time.

We will definitely be using Jetsetter again in the future after this experience at Milliken Creek Inn & Spa. Thank you Jetsetter for a fantastic honeymoon! We look forward to traveling with you again!
Happy traveling,
—Sarah and Joseph

What I look forward to in 2011!

With the recent start of the new year, there many things I look forward to.

1. Getting married! Actually I’m getting married tomorrow!

2. Graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with my first degree! I will be graduating in May with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. It’s been quite a journey at Cal and I’ve loved every moment, well, except for finals.

3. Beginning graduate school in the Fall! I will be hearing back from the graduate programs I applied to sometime in March and April. I hope I will have many offers to consider and whichever I choose, I look forward to attending in the Fall as I pursue a PhD.

There are many other wonderful things that will happen over the course of this year and I look forward to those, too.

Happy New Year!

With the opening of the Mac App Store, a lot of awesome applications are priced down like Pixelmator. I would take this opportunity to download them before the prices go back up.

Also, you can download individual iLife ‘11 and iWork applications instead of buying the whole suite of applications.

Happy downloading,
